Spore Strips, Raven

These strips are used to validate and determine the adequacy of steam or chemical vapor sterilization. Each strip contains a standard spore population of 105 of Bacillus stearothermophilus. A minimum of two test strips should be introduced into the sterilization chamber along with the material to be sterilized. At the end of the sterilization process, the strips should be transferred to the recovery media (tryptic soy broth), incubated, and then checked for growth.
