The Speci-Sponge^® is designed for testing surfaces for the presence of Listeria, Salmonella and other food-borne pathogens. This economical system is excellent for sampling sanitary indicators. The sterile sponge is enclosed in a 540 ml write-on Whirl-Pak bag. Dry, the sponge measures 4 x 8 cm (1.5 x 3”). To use, moisten the sponge with diluent before wiping the test surface, then place it in the bag and seal it. The Whirl-Pak closure provides a leakproof seal with “Puncture-Proof Tabs” to reduce potential damage to the bag.

DE broth is a general purpose diluent to moisten the sponge. It will also neutralize various sanitizers which may be present. Store at 2 to 8°C. Pack of 100 x 10 ml vials.
